Sakura Elevator has completed the automation upgrade of its fire and smoke protection door production line, officially introducing a robotic arm system. This equipment update is part of Sakura Elevator’s ongoing smart manufacturing strategy.
During a fire, elevator shafts can create a “chimney effect,” allowing dense smoke and toxic gases to rise rapidly through the shaft—often more dangerous than the flames themselves. In terms of safety certification, Sakura Elevator’s fire and smoke protection doors have achieved multiple internationally recognized certifications. Notably, the U.S. UL certification, widely considered the most stringent in the world, has been successfully obtained. Sakura Elevator has also received certifications from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Singapore’s TÜV, and Taiwan’s Ministry of the Interior.
Thanks to these rigorous certifications, Sakura Elevator products are successfully exported to Japan, appearing in train stations and major retail centers, and in Singapore, where more than 600 units have been installed.
Looking ahead, Sakura Elevator will continue driving technological upgrades, providing safer vertical mobility solutions for customers both domestically and internationally.
